Entire Life Crisis: The Story So Far 1-Science says our brains start degenerating at 24 years old. I am 26 years old and I can attest that I have gotten so dumb. In high school I was articulate, sharp, I could properly enunciate and had such a broad vocabulary people would tell me to stop using such big words. Today I speak in Emojis. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2- Sadly, I thought I was getting better. 3- I so aggressively do not want to work on my thesis right now it is unbelievable. 4- Not really into the whole "getting out of bed" thing today, because it means I just get to stare at a computer screen all day, doing necessary and boring shit. Interview transcriptions. IRB materials prep. Data codification. Ugh. 5- Yesterday's workout was insane! My quads. My hamstrings. My glutes & some other muscles that I don’t know the names of. They all hurt. After 10 hours of sleep I’m still tired and very sore. 6- What I want to do: catch up on all the TV shows I ever missed while crocheting and knitting every cool thing I see on the internet. 7- I appear to have lost all my concentration this past week. And wherever my concentration went, it’s clear my motivation went along with it, cause I have done very little to rectify my current situation. 8-I’m writing like Hemingway today. Short, simple sentences. My brain is screaming “NOOOOOOOOOO WRITE LIKE FAULKNER! LONG SENTENCES WITH FIFTEEN SUBORDINATE CLAUSES!” 9- Please, Lord, don’t make me have to be interesting today. | ||
