Bonjour Guncem!
After taking this exciting research trip, I have been here a week, and it’s amazing how quickly things became my ‘normal.’ See how I greeted you in French? Now I can take the subway on my own, I can walk 13 miles in a day without getting lost, and heck, I even started to run into people I know on the street! Feeling so much like the local I pretend to be has made my days so much more interesting and adventure-packed. And they are long and intense days full of learning, listening and doing: I already had six interviews, one of which was with "the guy" in the most influential party (can you believe it?? I was so starstruck that I could barely contain myself!), I had tons of fun by seeing new places, and making new friends, and for that I think I am so incredibly lucky. Without the people I meet here, my stay wouldn’t be the same!
Oh, just ten more days until I’m on a plane again, to go back home. In the meantime, I plan to make the most of days and see more of the amazing things this country has to offer!
