So, R. was not feeling well today and he asked me if I could cover his intro to comparative politics class. I said yes, as I already had my prezi prepared from when I TA'd for the intro class (oh, god, was it 2 years ago? 3 semesters ago? Time flies!) -aand the class went really well. When I say well, I mean really, really well. Students looved me! They all wanted to participate, discussion was really good, and even I was impressed with my performance - can you believe it??! Eventually, before I left the building I heard them talking among each other and saying I was so much better than all other TAs in their class! Someone came up to me at the end and said "for the first time in this section, I didn't feel like I was gonna die of boredom", to which someone else replied "you should TA more often for this class". haha! There's nothing like getting good feedback for what you do! Plus, it's unbelievable how they killed me softly with their comments, right after I wrote my teaching statement and talked about my enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching. Now all I can think is it brings me joy. And happiness. And more motivation to work on my own class. File this under: Much-needed ego-boost. | ||
