I've finished listening to The Martian on my audible yesterday (woohoo for remembering how to enjoy a book :)) and watched the movie with A. tonight. Throughout the book, my favorite thing had been Mark's sense of humor, which makes him refer to an international treaty to declare himself a space pirate and tell “That’s what she said” jokes to NASA while they’re trying to save his ass! Of course they didn't show all those gems (or most of my favorite parts, really) in the movie, but I think I almost completely lost it when the credits rolled and “I will survive” music came on: seriously, "I should've changed that fucking lock", "now you're back from outer space?" I was grinning like a loon!
Since I submitted that chapter, the days have been action packed, and eventful for a change. I did have an interview for a visiting assistant professor position on Monday, and it went fine, but I don't want to talk about it. I have days where there are no more fucks for me to give. I can’t muster any strength to stare at job applications. None, not one fuck left.
