So S. and I were talking about how nice it would be to run away to Costa Rica for while and finally we made it. We actually came to Limon, Costa Rica, and life is good here!!
I’m still pinching myself that we get to see sloths. Small, smiley, slow, dopey, wondrous sloths! We're staying at the chilled Caribbean town of Cahuita for this reason only and going to the Aviarios Sloth Sanctuary today for a tour of the country’s favourite creature. They’re everywhere- even featuring on their highest banknote (I never thought I'd be this reluctant to spend money but things change when that money has a picture of the sloth on it) -And rightly so. They fit the Caribbean lifestyle perfectly.
Oh, I almost forgot...after all the excitement, we actually saw a wild sloth on a tree as we were having dinner last night. It was very strange because she was climbing down the tree with her baby clinging on her, they were really close to us (and to the beach) with another tree barely in sight. Of course we were screaming with joy and taking flash photography to capture this beauty and I was amazed that she didn't just disappear into the darkness -she had that same adorable smile as the others so all was well in her world...
so obviously now all is well in my world!
