"We sat up until 12 o'clock, not to ring the New Year in, but to hiss the old year out."

Altoona Tribune, Pennsylvania, January 7, 1939

It’s been a nomadic year, and I have wandered my way through it. It’s a strange way to live, never knowing where you are going next; it’s a strange thing always saying yes to the upcoming destination. I would have it no other way.

This New Years Eve, I spent the night with two of my closest friends (and my fiancé!) in Charlotte , joking and laughing and being stupid and having fun and making plans for our futures. At midnight, we went out to see the fireworks, drank our champagne in the cold, celebrate new chances and new opportunities and life together, an had a pretty great time rolling in the new year.
