As a millennial professor, I totally want to put “teaching people decades older than I am to use tech during the pandemic” on my CV as departmental service. Can I?

So far my ‘online teaching during a pandemic’ experience has been defined by feeling on top of things for a few days at a time and then having a meeting every 3rd or 4th day that leaves me confused and overwhelmed. Today was a reaffirming one, at least. The fiance is supportive of my learning & my career in his own stoic way and I must say he takes good care of me.

My shoulder is still a bit sore. Annoying. I passed out on the couch in the afternoon because this vaccine made me super-weak & tired, which has made me behind on some house things I now have to do, well, now. Boring things really - some maintenance, cleaning, fixing. Just really nothing I’d prefer to be doing but all those things that must be done or else some mundane and annoying consequence transpires (like, cockroaches and piles, and piles of dirty laundry -ugh). Problem-solving usually energizes me, but right now there are just a whole bunch of things that I can’t solve (plenty that I can though and that’s nice at least). Think I’ll try to eat some dinner and see what happens with my energy levels after that. It might just be a time to let the body win.
