As of today (!) I think I have finished compiling the list of possible readings. this was a huuuge research undertaking and is part of why I’ve been feeling so frazzled lately because I’ve just been reading like crazy trying to draw together all these different threads. I could easily go on like this for another month but I think that it is good to give myself a temporary stopping point. SO I am going to try to pause here and to focus on working with what i already have on the table. I still need to make decisions about what will be required readings vs. what can be part of the constellation of further readings around the core texts. once I’ve made the core text / additional text distinctions I need to start making decisions about sequencing; this will also require me to begin reaching out to our speakers about scheduling. I also need to actually create the physical form of the syllabus, lol, which always ends up taking longer than I expect and seems to inevitably be something I finish the night before classes start. but this semester, I need to get that out of the way earlier to (1) make sure students fill out the "back to school survey" and (2) give myself some time to finish the R&R I was supposed to finish and send out today :( AAAAH is just about the only way I can accurately convey my emotions today. I’m exhausted. Work was a flurry of activity this week and it was a lot of juggling between tasks all at the same time while making sure I stay organized and don’t make a mistake and then new students had a lot of questions and things they needed done and then I discovered a technical thing none of us had ever seen before and then that meant redoing some work and it basically wiped me out. Anyway, I feel like I have truly USED MY BRAIN today and now I am going to fully give myself over to not having a single thought until tomorrow morning & just do the manual task of organizing and re-organizing the LMS. | ||
