well. It’s been a day back at school, teaching in person, and I am more exhausted than I ever was! I came home and immediately wanted to collapse into bed. my eyes are bloodshot. I had too much to do all week and into the weekend, and didn’t get near enough rest. Then I realized my heart raced more easily than it did before. For the last two days, I had trouble sleeping. Then I woke up at 7 today and went back to school to teach my 75 min class in person. I did that twice, one class had 3 students joining in person (13 on Zoom) and the other had 13 students attending in person (2 on Zoom). In both cases, the minority group hated the arrangement. I also learned your face can get sweaty in ways you never knew it could when you’re teaching with a mask on for an hour straight. Add this to the already bad Zoom fatigue and desperate attempts to include everyone in the conversation. Also, it turns out, you don’t need to find time for a pee break during the day if you’re so dehydrated your head starts to hurt. If there is an exhaustion deeper than “first-day-back-at-school-professor-tired,” that should be “first-day-back-at-school-during-a-global-pandemic-professor-tired.” | ||
