this assignment seemed good at the time but now I have to grade the submissions: a lament
Ok, not to be like 'screw writing instruction' because it is very necessary, but there’s a particular type of writing (namely, 5-paragraph essay) that some of my students have learned that stifles their creativity and muffles their voices, and, it hurts my heart :(
I am tired, but it’s not the “keep you from thinking” sort of tired that I was feeling last year. Work was a flurry of activity last week and it was a lot of juggling between tasks all at the same time while making sure I stay organized and don’t make a mistake and then classes had a lot of questions and things they needed to be done - and I basically got no rest. I have an idea that I want to get started on next. But I definitely need the energy to do anything. I can barely focus now as I type this with how much I want to sleep.
