my fifth year in this job and I STILL do not understand how you tell if a project needs IRB approval. like if students were producing research papers then obv I could tell but when the research ‘products’ are nontraditional or creative forms it gets soooooooo murky for me!! Now that my "teaching reflection" proposal was approved and I am supposed to publish it in an edited volume, do I need the IRB approval to talk about students' learning plans and reflection essays? Who decides that in a SLAC, where there is no IRB office?
it’s a real banshee screaming day, for some reason my mood is WEIRD but it will be fine, or I’ll just get swept up in the current of meetings and forget about my mood.
